Munroe completed three additional operating theaters – two rooms focused on orthopedic surgery and one room for general surgery. These new operating rooms are designed using state-of-the-art technology for lighting, air flow, and carbon fiber beds. All lighting and surgical equipment is suspended from ceiling booms resulting in a feeling of open space for surgical staff and improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.  This unprecedented project was completed early and well within the spending plan.

The Munroe Foundation hosted a grand opening celebration and tour of the new rooms attended by 130 friends of the Foundation.  Harold and Opal Plumley were honored at the opening for their donation, which converted the OR waiting room from what some said resembled a bus station depot.

The Munroe Foundation is dedicated to providing $3,500,000 - more than 1/3 of the funding - for the expansion project.  You can help complete the Foundation’s commitment to this important project. To help the Foundation complete its commitment please visit the Foundation Donation Page.

The celebration event is featured in a Ocala Star Banner news article.
