What is the Munroe Foundation?
The Munroe Foundation was established in 1986 to financially support Munroe Regional Medical Center. The Foundation is a 501(c ) (3) tax exempt organization (tax #59-2649773) chartered under the laws of the State of Florida and was governed by a board of directors. In 2005, the Foundation became a department of the hospital.
Why give to the Munroe Foundation?
The Munroe Foundation exists to financially support Munroe Regional Medical Center. Munroe is a not-for-profit community hospital that serves the needs of all citizens in Marion County as well as its surrounding counties. Munroe treats all that walk through the doors regardless of their ability to pay.
What does the Foundation do with my money?
100% of your donation goes to benefit Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Does the Foundation have an endowment?
The Foundation has three endowments. In 2008, an endowment was established for Munroe Regional Medical Center. Estate Planned gifts that are not designated will go to the endowment.
The Ax Endowment was established to help defray the cost of indigent health care provided by Munroe.
The Lux Endowment was established to provide scholarships for technicians and other clinical jobs needed at Munroe.
Does the Foundation have a board of directors?
Yes, the 14 member volunteer board of directors are charged with raising funds for programs, projects, and capital needs for Munroe Regional Medical Center.
How are projects chosen that the Foundation agrees to fund?
The Foundation works with the administration and the hospital board to determine projects based on the strategic priorities of the medical center.
