Marc Miller joined Munroe Regional Medical Center in May 2008 as the Senior Vice President, Physician Services.
Munroe’s overall four Strategic Initiatives include Quality and Patient Safety, Operational Improvements, Market Share Growth / Service Line Development, and Physician Integration.
Marc’s role at Munroe carries responsibility within these four initiatives and is focused on Market Share Growth and Physician Integration. As a participant in these important strategic initiatives Marc’s responsibilities include
- Business Development, such as the Orthopedic Service Line
- Further development of Practice Management Infrastructure
- Continued management and ongoing relationships with existing employed physicians
- Continued recruitment of needed physicians
- Alignment with physicians in the community
Marc’s department works closely with other departments to ensure an organized approach to Hospital / Physician partnerships, models, activities and relationships. He is responsible for Physician recruiting, physician practice management, the medical staff development plan, the EA health program, physician practice valuation and development and business oversight of Munroe Regional affiliated physician practices. He is also a resource to and provides oversight for the development and maintenance of contractual relationships with hospital-based physicians to assure high-quality professional services are available for our medical staff and our patients. In his time with Munroe, Marc has driven the business side of physician programs such as Bariatric, Intensivist, and Orthopedics programs.
Before joining Munroe Marc was President and CEO of MedOasis, a company that provides physician practice management and billing services to hospital and physician owned practices across the Southeaster States. An important aspect of Marc’s role is balancing the requirements of operations excellence with relationship building. Of these, the most challenging is developing relationships. He promotes honest, open, trusting and transparent relationships with new and existing physicians.
Marc’s journey to Munroe and Ocala is an example of a small world. Fifteen years ago Marc worked in Ocala for three years. In addition, Marc’s wife, Cindy, wanted to return to Florida, and also Marc’s brother lives here in Ocala. So many coincidences helped Marc and his family make the decision to move to Ocala and Marion County and to join Munroe in this strategic, forward-looking and challenging role.
Marc’s family includes his wife Cindy and two daughters, one at Florida Statue University and the other at St. John’s High School. His personal interests focus on church, running, reading, family time and a little golf. Marc is an avid singer, having performed with the Bucharest Symphony, singing the National Anthem for the Houston Astros, and recording an album.
Munroe is very fortunate to have Marc on our team.
